Cheetos’ #FlaminHotToss – Let the #Cricket Begin!





The game of cricket always begins with a toss and with each coin toss comes immense curiosity for the cricket enthusiasts if which team is going to bat or field first. However, it was not just about deciding the fate of the game this time. It was a little different. And a lot interesting indeed!

As I watched the first ODI begin with a coin toss between Pakistan and England today, it was something about the flip that caught my attention. I could see that the coin being tossed was branded by none other than one of our flavory favorites, the Cheetos! And this was “something out-of-the-box!”

The branded coin toss activity by Cheetos serves as an excellent example of positive brand exposure and marketing beyond advertisements on screen. In the world of marketing campaigns, #CheetosCoinToss emerged as a creative attempt at reinforcing the brand’s essence successfully through the #FlaminHotToss on ground, thus combining the elements of fun and sport together. And what a brilliant idea it was!

#SooperHaiCricket & the Joy of Winning!

With the ICC World Cup quarter-finals approaching apace and having Pakistan as one of the teams qualifying for the same, I believe that the only thing a Pakistani cricket fanatic wants right now is Pakistan’s win in this thrilling game of cricket that has always remained a highly popular sport amongst the masses.

Celebrating the same spirit, Peek Freans Sooper, one of the leading biscuit brands of Pakistan, initiated the #SooperHaiCricket contest for the cricket enthusiasts whereby consumers were required to message different codes on Sooper biscuit packs to 8398 for an interactive session of question/answers related to the game.  Prizes included cash equivalent of airfares to Australia for 10 winners while smartphones, branded cricket gear and kit for another 500 lucky winners. The promotion started off on February 07 and the results are to be announced soon.

 

While the fate of our cricket team is yet to be decided in CWC 2015, let us pray for its flawless victory, eat a little Sooper and continue to chant for our team's success just  because we believe that #SooperHaiCricket & the Joy of Winning!
